New Season - The Atlanta Ballet!

Sure, the holidays are coming up and it’s always a fun tradition to see The Atlanta Ballet’s Nutty Nutcracker or classic Nutcracker to embrace the season. But what about the rest of the year?

The Atlanta Ballet is a really important arts organization filled with amazing performers, choreographers, directors and musicians that create some magical experiences on stage. Be a part of history as Atlanta Ballet embarks on one of the most monumental collaborations of its 82-year history - a world premiere story ballet by famed choreographer Twyla Tharp!

The new season is upon us! The windows are short to catch these amazing shows and with ticket prices as low as just $20, what an fantastic night out!

image

The Four Seasons - Cobb Energy Center 10/21-23. $20+.

Touted by critics and patrons as a “modern masterpiece,” James Kudelka’s The Four Seasons is a rich interpretation of the journey of life. Explore the passage of Everyman’s life with the innocence of spring, the passion of summer, the calmness of autumn, and the chilling death of winter. A stunning, mature work – most definitely Kudelka’s piece de resistance – this is a story of youth, discovery, and living life to the fullest.

The Nutcracker - The Fox Theatre 12/8-24. $20+.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – Atlanta Ballet’s Nutcracker returns to the Fox Theatre for an enchanted evening the whole family will enjoy. It’s a fun-filled magical adventure that has continued to thrill audiences for more than 50 years!

Twyla Tharp’s The Princess and the Goblin 2/10-19.

Experience Tharp’s original full-evening ballet co-produced by Atlanta Ballet and Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet. A story of a courageous young girl who confronts the trials of coming-of-age, this family-friendly ballet will involve students from the Atlanta Ballet Centre for Dance Education.

Tavern 99 - Root for the Home Team

Before heading to Tavern 99 last month for the first time, I knew friends who frequented the bar in Buckhead who said it’s a great spot for watching college and NFL games. Located right on the curve of East Andrews, it could be easy to dismiss as just another Buckhead sports bar, but it’s hiding a secret - Executive Chef Darrell Rice!

image

image

Sure Tavern 99 still has all the bells and whistles of a fun sports bar - live music, trivia nights and 2 for 1 apps every night from 5-7pm. Sounds familiar. But what you haven’t seen is their amazing new menu. Props to Chef Rice for flipping expectations on their head when you sit down to eat!

When was the last time you saw Goat Cheese Bruschetta, Tuna Tataki and Barbecue Shrimp over yummy grit cakes on a sports bar menu?

image

image

For entrees, you’ll have a wide selection of classic and gourmet inspired burgers, but don’t overlook the Cherry Rubbed Baby Back Ribs. So good!

There’s always something happening, so whether it’s to watch the big game, enjoy a live acoustic performance, or just enjoy a fantastic meal out by one of Atlanta’s talented chefs, be sure to take a second look at Tavern 99!
