Fake Fest at Park Tavern
When I first saw Yacht Rock Revue play to a very packed and rambunctious crowd at East Andrews last year, I laughed out loud and then promptly started singing along as loud as I could to some of my favorite ‘smooth songs of the 70s’.
Even though the Please Rock performers say they started the band as a joke, there’s no joke about how popular it’s become and now the...
The Greatest Show on Earth
As a kid, I remember vividly my first experience attending the Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus at The Summit (now Compaq Center) in Houston. Cotton candy and popcorn were a must!
Not one for clowns, I was all about the action - especially the gorgeous and daring men and ladies of the high-wire & trapeze! Now the circus has come to town and I’m really excited to share this...

Show: Bring It On - The Musical
When I first heard Bring It On - The Musical was coming to the Alliance Theatre, I laughed. Sure, the movie from 2000 starring Kirsten Dunst, Gabrielle Union and Eliza Dushku was fun and full of wacky cheerleading phrases like ‘spirit fingers’ and jokes about spanky pants (who knew they had a name?), but they were making a musical out of it? Reaching!
Luckily I scored some tickets...
