Not all of us are lucky enough to grow up with a perfect set of manners, or even knowing which fork to use at dinner, so that’s where my good friend Patti Davis, the fabulous woman behind the very social blog Anatomy of a Dinner Party comes in! Patti has launched a new set of etiquette classes for all ages, just in time for the holiday season!

I remember taking a ‘finishing class’ as a young girl that involved me walking with books on my head that didn’t really help me later in life, so wish I been lucky enough to have someone who could have prepared me for the formal dinners, business meetings and elegant parties of adult life.

First on the horizon, Patti is hosting a ‘Young & Polished’ class for ladies 13-17 years old in October that would be great for any girl to attend.

Details: Sat 10/8 9am-2pm. Atlanta Marriott. $189. Class includes meal, snacks, etiquette handbook and a take-away goody bag.

This afternoon of ‘polish’ includes some things I’d love as an adult, including a personal consultation by a professional make up artist and stylist. Just in time for fall fashions! She will also be reviewing the art of writing Thank You notes, which are actually pretty vital in the business world as much as the personal one.

Other classes in October for adults include Cocktail Party Etiquette (10/27 6-8pm at Davio’s), Interview Skills (10/25 6-8pm), and Table Manners for Adults 101 (10/13 6-9pm at Davio’s).
