Very hotly anticipated and the latest new restaurant concept from Fifth Group, Alma Cocina opens today, Tuesday 12/6!

Alma is being positioned as ‘Modern Mexican with Latin Flavors’ and having been to a special preview lunch last week, this description is dead on! I got to sample a couple items off the extensive menu, including the Shrimp Taquitos (tomatillo de arbol, apple, jicama, and avocado), the Tortilla Soup (chipotle-tomato, tomatillo, queso fresco, crispy tortillas, avocado), and the Flourless Chocolate-Ancho Cake (orange-red pepper salpicon, crema, chicharone) for dessert. So good! 

I am really excited about going back to try the handmade Churros with 3 sauces (salted cajeta, chocolate-coffee, Meyer lemon), the Fried Avocado Tacos (crispy cotija cheese, poblano pesto, roasted tomato) and their 4 different styles of Ceviche! Yum!

Headed by Executive Chef Chad Clevenger with Sous Chef Jeffrey Gardner (recently featured on Chopped), Alma brings exciting flavors to the downtown area, so be sure to check it out!
